The party was set up by Chaaban shortly before the floor crossing period in 2007 with the help of David Sasman, its interim leader. It should not be confused with the National People's Party, renamed the Minority Front, led by Amichand Rajbansi during the apartheid era. ==Persons== Members of the NPP (past and present) include: *Badih Chaaban *Jeffrey Donson〔 (now president of Independent Civic Organisation of South Africa) *Truman Prince〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.whoswhosa.co.za/truman-prince-30165 )〕 (now an African National Congress (ANC) member) *Juan-Duval Uys (now a member of the National Party South Africa) *David Sasman *Nickey Valentine〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.kannaland.gov.za/index.php?option=com_contact&task=view&contact_id=52&Itemid=84 )〕
